HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen10: EOL and EOSL Dates
The EOL of the HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen10 was 15 November 2021. On that date, HPE stopped selling it. The EOSL is 15 November 2026, which is also when manufacturer support ends. After that, HPE will supply neither Care Packs nor spare parts or firmware updates for the blade.
The HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen10 is a half-height blade for the HPE BladeSystem c7000. It came to market in 2017 with first generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, and configurations with Cascade Lake CPUs followed later.
The following table shows the base models and the preconfigured servers that HPE lists in the QuickSpecs for the BL460c Gen10.

The c7000 enclosure reaches its end on the same date
A blade server has no power supplies, fans or external network ports of its own. Power, cooling, management and network connectivity come from the enclosure. Anyone wanting to keep running the BL460c Gen10 therefore has to keep an eye on the lifecycle of the c7000 as well. HPE discontinued the chassis on the same date as the blade: end of sales (EOL) on 15 November 2021, end of support (EOSL) on 15 November 2026.

Firmware: SPP 2021.10.0 is the final level
HPE discontinued software maintenance for the BladeSystem BL460c Gen10 even before the EOSL. According to the release notes for Service Pack for ProLiant 2022.03.0, operating system support for the entire ProLiant BladeSystem portfolio has been considered frozen since SPP 2021.10.0 of October 2021. From SPP 2022.03.0 onwards, blade-specific components are no longer approved for the BladeSystem, even though they still appear in the package.
For the BL460c Gen10 and the rest of the c-Class infrastructure, SPP 2021.10.0 therefore remains the last supported basis. A maintenance contract after the EOSL is consequently about replacing defective hardware above all. The firmware stays at the 2021 level.
Maintaining the BL460c Gen10 after 15 November 2026
To operate the HPE BL460c Gen10 after the EOSL, you need a maintenance contract with a third party provider. Hardwarewartung.com can carry out maintenance and support for the BL460c Gen10 and the c7000 enclosure after HPE support ends, until at least 15 November 2036. That lets you keep using the blades for as long as their performance is sufficient for your applications, and tackle the changeover on your own schedule.
HPE has positioned the Synergy platform as the successor. Moving there does mean, however, that blades, chassis and interconnect modules are replaced entirely, because the c-Class components cannot be reused in a Synergy frame.
