The Germany Central region in Frankfurt was reportedly particularly affected. An attempt to switch systems to the Netherlands Northwest region in Amsterdam (failover) was apparently unsuccessful. During the incident, Oracle’s official status page provided no confirmation of the issues. Oracle did not initially respond to requests for comment.

Oracle reportedly experienced a cyberattack on parts of its cloud infrastructure last month. Initially, a security incident in Oracle’s OCI area was denied. Later, the company admitted to at least two customers that a compromise had occurred, which, however, only affected an older generation, the so-called Oracle Cloud Classic. Usernames from two outdated servers, which were not part of OCI, were allegedly published in the process.
